As we all know that Oman is a country which is located in western Asia which is popularly known for its Islamic culture and tradition and its beautiful architecture. Oman has the world’s second largest cave which adds Oman in the top list of all the tourists. The Cave is another tourist attraction spot.

Like all other wonder of Oman and other beautiful places, Wadi Bani Khalid is a Wilāyah also known as a Province in the Northern Governorate of the Eastern Region of Oman. It is located about 203km from Muscat. It is situated 120km from Sur.  This province has a wadi which is a different tourist attraction. The wadi is the best in the time of the Sultanate of Oman. There is a stream here which flows continuously throughout the year adding to the tourist attraction and adds more beauty to the scenery. You will also get to see the large boulders are scattered here and there. There are also large pools of water. Wadi covers a large swathe of lowland in the particular geographical area. Hajar mountains also g4ab your attention.

There is an underground chamber of the Sultanate of Oman which surprisingly has 4000 caves. Alfan or Uyun are the most visited places in the Wadi. There is a village named Bada which is quite famous in the wadi and is also a well known stop and attracts tourists every year. Bidiyyah is at least 40 km if you travel by the road. 

It will be quite interesting to know that the early inhabitants of the Wadi Bani Khalid were the Bedouins we had already read in our books. The Lifestyle of the Bedouins were different from the nomadic life as they were traditional. This rich history has made the tourists attract and visit Oman and the wadi is beautiful for its desert scenery and the natural springs which are deep and turquoise.

This wadi is like a paradise in the desert. Thr water of the pool never dries up. A wadi is a dry riverbed which automatically fills up during the heavy rainfall. Wadi Bani Khalid is the most relaxing place of Oman and the water does not dry up at any season. 

Wadi Bani Khalid has two areas – northern and Southern. 

The northern area is a relaxing area where you can get to see palm tress and pristine pools and there are spots like rock faces for picnics and people can also enjoy swimming. The southern area is a rough area which has a terrain that is Rocky and is used for trekking and bouldering purposes. It also has Miqil cave. This cave is a part of the cave network and leads to a small waterfall.

Things you must remember before you visit Wadi Bani Khalid 

• You must your baggage with you and you must carry your baggage yourself because the place is not that where you can tell your tour mates to carry your baggage. 
• There is a plenty of help offerings for both young and old people whenever any one needs help and support or if anyone needs guide to the way. 
• Before you visit Wadi Bani Khalid, just check weather forecasts in the area you are actually residing and also engage in the talk with the locals confirming about the same. Rain in the mountains can result in severe flooding and you can get into trouble so it is quite dangerous to travel at that time. Then sometimes, there can be flash floods where you can see no rain but only floods. 
• It is quite challenging when you are going on a hike through the jagged edges and slippery areas for that you need to wear good grip shoes and other accessories whatever you feel you need during your trip. If you can really manage, then you can enjoy the hike. 
• It is quite advised to look and watch every step as you walk through the slippery canyon rocks and you should follow the signboards as guided by the authorities of the Wadi Bani Khalid. 
• If you have a plan of swimming, you should not try any kinds of stunts like jumping from the cliffs and rocks and then swimming in between narrow passages. 
• You need to fuel up your vehicle before you are starting your trip to Wadi Bani Khalid. 
• You should carry your sunscreen lotion and wear sunglasses when you are going to this place.
